I had the opportunity to cruise with some friends over to an exhibition of amazing drawings by Taylor Scott Dunfee last weekend, a talented artist and buddy of ours. Not only well adept in front of a canvas, he also is a talented photographer, responsible among other things, for the latest Ampal Creative look book. The work presented at the White Gloss gallery DTLA is at once personal, introspective and a great narrative. Though I haven’t asked him just what his drawings represent, it’s clear when viewing his self portraits and imagary that Taylor has created lines outlining the more important points of his life. From friends to myrts, booze to photography, its all there. If, by judging the crowd as a measure, I am correct in saying his pieces connected real well with the on-lookers, then I have no doubt the bloke with a pension for Jameson has a hell of a future ahead of him.
His show will be open from until December 2nd so be sure to cruise by and check it out!
